You will develop fundamental knowledge of chemical engineering principles and learn to apply these to design sustainable processes and products.
The course will give you a thorough understanding of biotechnology, and equip you with skills in genetic engineering, industrial microbiology, molecular agriculture, bioinformatics, and the related regulatory, ethical and legal issues.
You will design projects and practical experiences throughout the course, which will allow you to apply your knowledge and skills.
In your final year, science and design project courses will give you the opportunity to either undertake work placement or work on an industry-suggested project in a simulated work environment.
In Process Plant Design and Economics, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with process engineers and learn about their roles and responsibilities.
As a graduate, you’ll have the knowledge and skill to implement large-scale production of material produced through biotechnological processes.
